Making your own homemade beer is just simple even a beginner can do it. You won't also need lots of technical equipments to brew your own beer. All the things you'll need can be found at your nearest beer making store or just inside your house. You could also save some money by making your own beer compare from buying those commercial beers. Another thing is that you could also help in minimizing the creation of those platinum containers and bottles.
First, prepare all the things you'll need in making your homemade beer and these are:
1. Kitchen Pot- any pot that can hold a few gallons of water and with extra space to avoid spillage.
2. 10- Gallon Plastic Container with lid. Make sure that it can be used for food.
3. Siphon Hose.
4. Hose Clamp.
5. Thermometer.
Ingredients:
1.1 tsp brewer's yeast.
2.2 40oz. cans of Malt Extract
Procedure:
1. Clean all the equipments with warm, slight soapy water, and rinse thoroughly. Make sure that there are no soap residues. Sanitize all of the equipments with a mixture of very small amount house hold bleach and lot of water.
2. Wash the 10-gallon plastic container with a mixture of water and baking soda to remove the plastic smell of it. Then pour 10 liters of water.
3. While in your kitchen pot, boil 7 liters of water.
4. Add the two caps of Malt extract.
5. Cook and stir without covering the pot for about 20 mins.
6. After that, pour the cooked mixture to the plastic container quickly to add more air to it that makes the yeast rapidly grows. The more air gets into the mixture the better.
7. Replenish with bottled water or a boiled tap-water until you've reaches the neutral temperature of the mixture. Test the temp by using a sanitized thermometer.
8. Sprinkle in the yeast and stir well, then cover it with lid. Make sure that the lid is loosely to prevent the container from exploding because of the carbon dioxide it creates.
9.Keep the container sealed for about 6-12 days, depending on the temperature of the room, and prevent unnecessary opening. After some days take some samples to taste if it is ready to transfer on bottles. There must only few or no bubbling in the beer and it must not be sweet tasting.
When you've achieved the desired taste in the last step, it is now time to put the mixture on bottles. You can use empty cola bottles for this. Using a funnel put 2 level tsp of sugar to each bottle. Then place the plastic container higher than the bottles to transferring the beer to the bottles. Use the siphon to get the beer from the container without pouring it. Be careful not to disturb the sediment on the bottom of the container. It is also important that you leave an airspace to the bottles, and then screw the caps tightly. Invert the bottles and shake to dissolve the sugar. Keep the bottles in warm area for the first few days and then transfer to a dark cooled spot. You can drink your own homemade beers after few days but they will improve if you will let them stay longer.
