Brewing Your Own Beer - What You Need

There is nothing like making your own beer and sharing it with a few friends and family members. Beer takes a great deal of craft and expertise and is something that can be ruined if not carefully monitored. If you have ever considered brewing your own beer but didn't know where to start, fortunately there are a variety of brewing kits that can help you on your way to becoming a master brewer in no time!

For a beginner there are a few types of kits you can purchase to start making your own brew. Many companies now make a home brewing kit that provides you with almost all of the equipment you need to brew your own beer. These kits normally include:

1. Brew pot

2. Fermenter

3. Plastic Hose

4. Airlock and stopper

5. Bottling Bucket

6. Bottle brush & capper

7. Bottles

8. Thermometer

There are other pieces of equipment you can purchase at any store:

1. Small bowl

2. Saucepan

3. Rubber spatula

4. Stainless steel or plastic mixing spoon

After you have the equipment, you can then purchase the other important part of brewing your own beer, ingredients. For novice brewers, you can purchase a "beer kit". This consists of a can of hopped malt concentrate and a package of yeast. There are additional items you will need to purchase including brewers sugar, malt extract, rice syrup, etc.. A brewer supply store will be able to direct you to the other items you may need to start making your concoction. Beer kits can be bought online or at brewing supply stores, and help prevent a huge margin of error.

These are the basic items needed for brewing beer. If you are interested in learning more about home brewing, consider purchasing or borrowing a home brewer's guide.
